Introduction

 

            This is a survey to gather local opinion and ideas on issues that affect Sawyers Valley.

 

The SVRRA most recently reformed in 1995 although various ratepayer groups have existed over the last 80 years. The SVRRA deals with issues affecting the locality and has the following values:

a) To empower residents and ratepayers to affect their community and its future.

b) Participate in, Nurture and Encourage activities to strengthen the community

    identity.

c) Preserve and enhance the character of the area and surrounding country side.

d) Maintain regular contact with as large a proportion of residents and ratepayers of the locality as possible and provide information to members regarding issues and decisions of concern to the locality.

e) Provide input, from its members, to the decision making processes affecting the locality.

f) Foster an environment of involvement and co-operation between residents and

    ratepayers.

g) Undertake and encourage the equitable distribution of work across the

     Association.

h) Encourage the support of local business.         

 

 

            Purpose of Survey

                        A guide for the SVRRA in dealing with various issues, which impact the locality.

 

 

            How to fill it out

                        The Survey consists of two parts

                                    Part A – questions for which the SVRRA need to know who you are.

                                    Part B – questions the SVRRA do not need to know who you are.

                       

All questions are optional except name and address on Part A, which is  confirmation of a valid reply.

Other text can be included and will be considered as part of the survey.

                        You are also most welcome to bring to a monthly meeting at the Sawyers Valley

Hall 7.30pm first Monday of the month.

            When to return

                        Please return by 31st May 2009.

 

 

Why to return 

            The SVRRA is contacted by various local, state and national organizations on

many issues impacting Sawyers Valley. Monthly meetings are held by the SVRRA to discuss and respond to these issues. This survey is a means the SVRRA is using to gain input from those who do not attend these meetings. This will be the easiest means you will get to have some involvement with these issues. 

 

                        Some of the issues the SVRRA is involved with include:

                        Local road upgrades, development plans, TPS3 and TPS4, cat and dog by-laws, outbuilding by-laws,  Shire strategic plans, vandalism and anti-social behaviour, road safety, shire amalgamation, trek the trail, landcare activities, facility and precinct plans, water treatment plants, waste water treatment plants, hazardous waste transport through Sawyers Valley, noise pollution, waste management, roadside litter cleanup, fire awareness education and many more. 

 

 

Confidentiality

Do not mark Part B of the survey with anything to identify you. Part B  will be used to develop general views,  opinions and desired direction of the locality and will generally be used as aggregated totals.
